Position Overview:
NYC Footy is seeking a dynamic and dedicated FT Referee Manager. The ideal candidate will bring experienced referee experience in soccer and possess exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Referee Manager responsibilities will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our matches by managing referee recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Weekly Ref/Field Ops Call: Show up prepared to a weekly meeting that reviews the look back and look ahead for referee operations.
Referee Recruitment & Interviewing: Identify and attract new referees to join the NYC Footy team, enhancing the pool of available officiating talent and conducting interviews with referee applicants to assess their skills, experience, and fit for the role.
Referee Training: Plan and oversee training sessions for newly onboarded referees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills and continuously provide training and support to existing referees to enhance their performance and understanding of the game.
Replacement Support: Assist referees in finding suitable replacements when they are unable to fulfill their assignments.
Score Management: Regularly input match scores in a timely manner and troubleshoot any issues related to score submission.
Referee Performance Monitoring: Track referee performance, enforcing rule adherence, punctuality, score submission, and other relevant criteria.
Troubleshooting: Address any challenges that arise, such as missing scores, and ensure effective communication with referees.
Equipment and Information: Ensure referees are well-prepared with the necessary equipment and information tailored to their assigned fields.
Substitute Referees: Ensure that substitute or replacement referees are briefed and prepared to meet the specific needs of the match.
Skills Required:
Interpersonal Skills: For effective communication and relationship-building with referees and field/facility managers of varying backgrounds and personalities.
Referee Experience: Extensive experience in soccer refereeing, with a comprehensive understanding of the game's rules and dynamics.
Outstanding organizational skills: To manage referee schedules, training sessions, league schedules, permits, and performance tracking.
Timely communication abilities: For prompt and clear interactions with referees, facility managers, and other stakeholders.
Sense of Urgency: To respond promptly to time-sensitive matters and adapt to changing circumstances.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensuring accuracy in schedules, scores, permit details, and other crucial details.
