NYC Footy has numerous high demand leagues that sell out within minutes. At these locations, we do our best to honor our loyal teams while trying to provide opportunities for new teams to participate. Below, you will see our “automatic bid” policy.

Bid Qualification Requirements:

• Any team that has participated in a location for 8 consecutive seasons is granted an automatic, right of first refusal, bid into the same league. 

• Any team is eligible to use their bid to register for a lower division at the same day and location if and only if they finished in the last or second to last place the season prior AND you are not captaining an additional team in the division you are leaving.

• Priority is based on in-division captaincy. A team (Team A) that has less consecutive seasons than another team (Team B) will gain priority if Team B elects to transfer divisions. In said case, if there are no available spots in the division, Team B must remain in their original division.

• A team can use a bid to move up a division at any time but the above rules still apply.

• If a team has played in 8+ leagues, but has not reached 8 consecutively, the team will not qualify for an automatic bid.

• For teams that play in multiple divisions, each division is treated separately.
